Show Biz: Monday 01/05/09

*** Some sense of normalcy returned today for many of you as the first full work week of 2009 is upon us.

Kids are -- for the most part -- back in school as well. Late last week, Megan (our 8-year old) said she was ready to go back to school because she missed her friends.

Now that she's back with her friends, our youngest, Sarah (2 years old) gets a turn at missing her big sis.

Sarah may be at least partially glad I'm out of the house this morning. I inadvertently made her cry yesterday. As Brian Westbrook was running in for a touchdown yesterday to help the Philadelphia Eagles pull away from Minnesota, my cheers, claps, and shouts of excitement were a little too much for her ears -- and maybe eyes -- to handle.

Sorry, Sarah. Hopefully I only have to make you cry for three more wins.

Jay returned to work today as well. Things are going well at home with newborn, Jack. With it being a new year, plus having Jack as a topic, and going off of feedback we've received from you, we'll let Jay out of his cage even more than usual to add to the show.

The guy's first name is in our call letters, it's the least we could do.

*** The birthday tie-in for today was "One Way Or Another" by Blondie. Guitarist Chris Stein turns 59 today.

Here's a classic clip of the band performing the son gon the old Mike Douglass Show.

Not sure what Debbie Harry is trying to accomplish with her outfit. Maybe she had to go right from the taping of this show to a "Dress up like Joan Rivers if she was a librarian" party.

She was still smokin' hot, though.

Debbie Harry, that is.

*** George "Funky" Brown of Kool And The Gang turned 60 today, and since "Jungle Boogie" came out in the 70's, I chose to go with "Misled" for The 80's Escape.
