Playing Catch Up

Between getting a new computer in the studio, and the craziness of the weather, it's been a little slow here in blogland the last couple of days.

Ok, the weather excuse is a bit lame, which is at least better than a lame bit.

A few things from the last couple of days...

*** Wednesday's birthday tie-in was actually an event that took place on January 15th, 1978.

Player's "Baby Come Back" hit number one, and stayed there for three weeks. Always fun to see these old videos. Whoever knew what the guys from Player looked like?

Now, you'll know.

*** For the 80's Escape, we went with "Our House" from Madness. Band member Chas Smith had a birthday on Wednesday.

In the early days of MTV, this video was a monster smash. Fun, irreverent, and memorable. Just like our show!

*** On Thursday we were able to celebrate the birthday of Melvyn Gale, who played the cello with E.L.O. When it comes to cello players in rock bands, there's Melvyn Gale, and...

...and...

Well, anyway, we played "Evil Woman" in honor of Melvyn.

*** Lisa Lisa also had a birthday Thursday, and "Head To Toe" was our choice for the 80's Escape.

I think I heard that song 286 times in the summer of 1987.

For some odd reason, embedding is disabled on the actual video of the song, which you can still see here, so enjoy a live performance below instead.
