O' Christmas Tree

Our most recent poll question asked whether or not you had taken down your Christmas tree. 78% of you have.

I am in the minority, as our tree is still up. We usually try to take the tree down the weekend after New year's Day, but this year we've just been lazy about it.

One of our listeners is also in the minority as their tree is still up. Or should I say trees.

She emailed to talk about them, and what may have turned into a new tradition at their house.

Thought I'd share it with you...

Mike,

I voted on your blog today, but wanted you to know that we had three Christmas trees up this year. Two are artificial, one decorated in a soccer theme and the other one decorated with snowmen ornaments.

They are still up, I don't usually take them down until Superbowl weekend.

The third tree was live and decorated in black, red, silver and white and smelled wonderful!

We moved the live tree (without ornaments) out to the back deck. This is the first year we have done this, but we've enjoyed seeing the lights shining through the ice and snow.

We put pine cones on it, dipped in peanut butter and bird seeds. So the birds have been enjoying our tree, too. I think this will be a new tradition.

Thanks for the story! Here's hoping that the birds don't get salmonella poisoning.
