Weekend Notes

*** Here's something to remember next week -- and the week after -- when surfing around from radio station to radio station: Most of the hosts on Chicago stations will be off the next few weeks for Christmas vacation.

Jay and I? We'll be here, on the air for all of your holiday needs.

Granted, we'll be off Christmas day, and I'll be taking the 26th and 27th off, and Jay is due for a week off when his wife has their baby, which could be any day now...but you get the idea.

For the most part, we will be on the air in the morning to help get you to and through the holidays.

*** I have a few holiday favorites of mine that I like to do on the show leading up to Christmas day, and we'll be bringing a lot of those to you either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

"Green Christmas", "Santa Claus and His Old Lady", "I Yust Go Nuts For Christmas", "Twas The Night Before Christmas (Technically Correct)", "Christmas Dragnet", and more, plus my reading of "Yes, Virginia" will all make their appearance this week.

On the Christmas Eve show, we'll probably go non-stop, or at least very close to non-stop Christmas music. I tend to lean more toward the standards on that day. There are a few instrumental medleys and songs that I like to play as well, so hopefully you'll enjoy it.

If you have any suggestions on things you'd like to hear, whether it's a song, or a bit, or whatever, email me.

*** Maybe this is a good time as well to offer you a chance to send along any things that you would want (from the show or this blog) for Christmas. We always welcome feedback from you guys, but don't always get much.

That is most likely a good sign -- no news is good news -- but take a moment now, think about the show, and what you've been reading here the last few weeks, and feel free to be honest and let us know the things you like, and the things you don't like.

We'll sift through your thoughts and do our best to present a better show and blog for you in 2009.
