Here Come The 'Hawks

Cheer up, Bears' fans. At least you're not Lions' fans.

And, now that the Bears' season is over, and the Bulls are stuck in neutral, turn your attention to the Blackhawks. On the same day Da Bears' season came to an end, the 'Hawks won their franchise record ninth straight game.

It's hard to believe a team that's been around for so long has never had a win streak reach nine games.

Of course, we can take partial credit for keeping the streak alive, as since Jay Capron and his dad went to the Blackhawks game earlier this month, the team -- counting that game -- is 8-0.

Plus, they'll have the national spotlight on New Year's Day. Well, the part that isn't dominated by college football bowl games. The 'Hawks are hosting Detroit at noon at Wrigley Field.

Holy Cow.

It's a great event just because of the setting, but the 'Hawks and Red Wings just happen to be two of the top three teams in the Western Conference.

It might not snow in Chicago on January 1st, as it did during last year's outdoor game, but it should be a great atmosphere, anyway.

What a great way to get 2009 off to a fantastic start! Open the morning by listening to the morning show from 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (complete with new themes, with everything played a tad softer to compensate for your hangover), followed by the 'Hawks and 'Wings at noon.

Cap it off by catching the Top 50 Songs of 2008 Countdown that runs from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on 95.7 FM, WJDK.

So, put the Bears clothes in hibernation, and commit to the Indian. Plenty of room on the bandwagon.
