*** Mariah Carey is turning 39 today. Our birthday segment song was her 1995 hit, "Fantasy".

*** One of the members of INXS -- Andrew Farriss -- turns 50 today.

I'm not sure INXS gets/got the credit they deserved for creating such accessible, fun music back in the era of cheesy synth pop and hair bands.

They gave us a slew of fun, catchy, cool sounding songs, while lead singer Michael Hutchence taught the world a valuable lesson about the dangers of auto-erotic asphyxiation.

Here's one of their bigger hits of the 80's, and a song we featured on Friday's 80's Escape, "Need You Tonight"
