The topic of Ernest came up this morning, in a roundabout way, as Jay revealed his fondness for the "Ernest" films when he was a kid.I mentioned that I have never seen an "Ernest" film, but was familiar with the actor -- Jim Varney -- who was also one of the voices in the Toy Story movies.
For some reason, neither of us could remember how the Ernest character came about.
Only because it would have bugged me the rest of the day to not know the answer to this, we looked it up, and, of course, it all started with a series of commercials with Varney portraying the Ernest character.
Problem solved.
