Show Biz: Wednesday 02/18/09

*** Dennis DeYoung turns 62 today. The native of the Chicago 'burbs fronted Styx for many years.

His style, and preferred direction for the band in the early 80's led to the departure of Tommy Shaw.

DeYoung had a hit with "Desert Moon" in 1984, which was our song choice today.

We once had a salesman here who knew Dennis DeYoung, or claimed to at least. Not sure why I'm bringing it up because the salesman no longer works here -- this goes back about ten years, and about 478 salespeople -- and Dennis DeYoung, although still performing on various stages throughout the country these days, hasn't really been relevant for a couple of decades, but there ya go.

*** Juice Newton is also celebrating a birthday today. The country crossover star turns 58.

The obvious choice for the 80's Escape today was "Queen Of Hearts".

Sometimes we like obvious.
